The 2011 award receipients demonstates leadership both in his career as a paramedic and in his personal life. He takes the time to ensure that every member of the patient care team is doing their part. He treats his patient in a professional manner while maintaining a calm demeanor that is felt by patients, their family members and EMS personnel alike. He keeps his patients and family members informed about the care being provided, why one hospital is selected over another, and what to expect when they arrive at the emergency department. He provides that compassionate extra hand, treating all his patients as if they were his family.
